About this policy
Pocketwise Apps provides Pocket Video Downloader, an Android browser for downloading videos and images from supported websites. This policy explains how the current app handles information. Contact: pocketwiseapps.support@gmail.com.
Information stored on your device
The app stores settings, bookmarks and folders, website icons, browsing history when enabled, website cookies and storage, temporary previews, and download records on your device. Unfinished direct video downloads are kept in private app storage with their source addresses and resume metadata until completed or discarded. Cookies and passwords are not copied into those resume records. Website sign-ins are handled by Android WebView and the websites you visit. Pocketwise Apps does not receive a copy of your browsing history, bookmarks, website passwords, cookies, or downloaded files through an app-operated server. The app does not have a Pocketwise account or cloud-sync service.
Website and media requests
Browsing, searches, video detection, preview loading, and downloads connect to websites and their media providers. These providers receive information needed for the request, such as your IP address, browser information, requested URLs, and applicable website cookies or referring-page information. Detection may fetch page metadata or part of a media file before you choose to download it. Opening bookmarks may contact bookmarked websites to retrieve their icons, without attaching browser cookies or a referring page. Website content may include third-party services and trackers; the app's blocking options do not guarantee that all tracking is prevented.
Search and device services
Search queries go to your selected search engine. If you confirm an image search, the image URL is sent to Google Lens. Android WebView, Safe Browsing, and any device autofill provider may process information under their providers' policies. The app uses your network connection state for download controls and can read clipboard text when you tap the address bar if clipboard suggestions are enabled. Tapping a copied-text suggestion sends that text to your selected search engine; tapping a copied link opens its website. Clipboard suggestions are not sent automatically or uploaded to Pocketwise Apps.
Feedback and support
Feedback is sent only when you choose to send an email or share a draft. The draft includes your message, selected topic, and app version. Device details are optional and shown before you send them. Browsing history, links, cookies, and passwords are not added automatically. Anything you type into your message will be included. Emailing support also supplies your email address and any other information or attachments you choose to send. Pocketwise Apps and its email provider, Gmail, process this information to respond and troubleshoot. Avoid sending passwords or other information that is unnecessary for your request.
Advertising, analytics, and sharing
The current app has no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, in-app purchases, or automatic crash-reporting service added by Pocketwise Apps. We do not sell personal information. We use support correspondence to provide support, maintain the app, and meet applicable obligations; we may disclose it when required by law. Websites, Google Play, device services, email providers, and the provider hosting this policy have their own data practices. Their connection logs and other processing are governed by their own policies. If we introduce ads or other changes to data handling, we will update this policy and provide any required disclosures and choices before those features are used.
Your controls and deletion
Use Settings > Security and privacy to turn off history recording or clipboard suggestions, manage cookie settings, and clear history, cache, or website data and sign-ins. Bookmarks can be removed from the bookmarks menu. Unfinished downloads can be resumed or discarded from Finished > Unfinished downloads. They remain when you clear tabs, browsing history, or cache. Saved files can be deleted from the app's download library where available, or with your device's file manager. Android notification permissions can be changed in device settings. Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling removes app-private data, but files saved to shared Downloads storage may remain until you delete them. Clearing cache does not delete saved downloads or website sign-ins.
Retention
Local app data stays on your device until you remove it, clear app storage, uninstall, or the app replaces temporary or bounded history records. Website storage is also subject to website expiration rules. We retain support correspondence for as long as needed to address your request, follow up on related issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence; limited information may need to be retained where required by law. We cannot delete information held independently by websites or other providers; contact them directly for their data controls.
Security
The app uses HTTPS connections and rejects invalid website certificates. App-private records use Android's application storage protections. Downloaded files in shared storage may be accessible to you and other apps you authorize. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security. Keep your device and Android WebView updated and use care when visiting websites or sharing files.
Children
Pocket Video Downloader is a general-purpose browsing utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit children's personal information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us so we can address it.
